Identifying Domestic Violence for the Health Care Providers

This program attempts to address the epidemic of domestic violence which is the leading cause of injury to women in the United States.

This program offers professional health care providers with an overview of domestic violence and a protocol recommended by the Department of Health for treating and identifying domestic violence in a hospital or clinical setting.

This program is provided by trained staff.

Duration of program: 1.5 to 2 hours.

Identifying Domestic Violence for Educators & Childcare Providers

This program is designed to assist educators and childcare providers to identify the signs and effects of domestic violence on children. The program offers community referrals and support information.

This program is provided by trained staff and volunteers.

Duration of program: 1 to 1.5 hours.

Domestic Violence 101

This program is designed to enhance participant's knowledge of intimate partner violence (domestic violence), prepare participants to identify indicators of domestic violence, and recognize behaviors of victims and perpetrators. Identify Florida statutes for mandated reporting. Identify barriers for victims to exit safely.

This program is provided by trained staff and volunteers.

Duration of program: 1 to 1.5 hours.

Domestic Violence in Later Life

This program is designed to increase understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence later in life. Identify barriers to escaping a batterer. Gain advocacy strategies and safety planning skills.

This program is provided by trained staff and volunteers.

Duration of program: 1 to 1.5 hours.

Understanding the Importance of Prevention

This program is designed to help partcipants understand the benefits of prevention and how it builds on current intervention work. Key concepts of a prevention framework—prevention in action.

This program is provided by trained staff and volunteers.

Duration of program: 1 to 1.5 hours.
